A nonprofit organisation in Tiraspol, working since 2001. We develop early support, rehabilitation, family support and independent living skills.
OSORC began as an initiative led by parents. A Tiraspol family association brought together 368 families raising children with developmental differences. They wanted access to education, connection and support that was then difficult to find.
In September 2001, with support from European organisations and the Chișinău organisation ACASA, OSORC opened in Tiraspol in a former kindergarten. Lyudmila Borodina became its director.
Early intervention, developmental activities, social participation and craft workshops gradually took shape. Sewing, pottery, woodworking and souvenir making helped young people build independent living skills and prepare for future employment.
Mobile services brought support closer to children and adults who found it difficult to attend the centre. Family support, psychological and legal consultations, autism support, creative activities and shared experiences developed alongside them.
Since 2022, OSORC has also provided humanitarian, psychological, social and legal support to people displaced from Ukraine in the Transnistrian region. Today the centre brings specialists and families together to create opportunities for development and participation in community life.
